OBJECTIVES

The main purpose of CISA is to help advance the study of Ireland by facilitating research and teaching in the fields of Irish history, culture, literature and politics as seen in a broad European and international context.

CISA seeks to link researchers at the University of Aarhus and other universities in Denmark and Europe.

CISA’s services comprise:

• Seminars, symposia, guest lectures and national and international conferences for researchers, ph.d. students and other interested individuals and groups
  
  
• Collaboration with:
     1. Other departments and centres at the University of Aarhus
     2. Universities and centres in Europe
     3. The Nordic Irish Studies Network (NISN)
     4. The embassies of Ireland and the United Kingdom
  
  
• Courses in Irish Studies subjects for students from the Department of English and other departments at the University of Aarhus, also in collaboration with other universities
