Forthcoming Events

ASCA promotes the study of the United States and contributes to research and teaching in American Studies, particularly post-graduate and doctoral education, by organizing a range of conferences and symposia, seminars and workshops, guest lectures, and graduate seminars.

In recent years, symposia have been held on the contemporary arts in America, racial and ethnic conflicts, culture and technology, the modern mass media, and American music; workshops have addressed the nature of Modernism and Postmodernism; and guest lectures have dealt with aspects of American politics, law, prose and poetry, foreign relations, gender, drama, film, journalism and history. ASCA also organizes a public forum series, the American Studies Round Table, designed to foster communication between the academic world and the general public.
