I am very pleased to inform you that the planning for the NISN-conference in May 19-20 in Uppsala is now in full swing. Ten people have announced that they are going to present papers, so I am sure it will be a very interesting and exciting conference. The programme I enclose is still preliminary but it gives you an idea of when we are planning to start and to finish. Registration is at 9am on the 19th and we will finish by lunch on the 20th. On Friday evening there will be a boattrip with dinner and music from Uppsala to Skokloster on Mälaren. The cost for trip and dinner is 345SEK. The conference fee is 200SEK, which includes two lunches, three coffees and conference material. The conference will take place at Språkvetenskapligt Centrum, Villavägen 4, in room 16-1058 (English department, first floor).

As I have written to you in an earlier message it is high time to book accommodation, since there are often lots of conferences going on in Uppsala in May. If you have not already done so, I suggest that you check with Uppsala Turist & Kongress, homepage www.res.till.uppland.nu. They have a list of hotels. The ones closest to Språkvetenskapligt Centrum are Hotell Muttern (email: muttern@swipnet.se. Single room 595:-, double room 695:-, Saturday to Sunday 495:- and 595:-)and Internationella Kursgården , email receptionen@intkursgard.uu.se; single room 511:-, with shower 595:-, double 740 and 780). The Turist & Kongress also has maps of Uppsala on their homepage.

Today I got an email from a delegate who informed me that the room situation for our weekend is difficult. Therefore I have made a preliminary booking of 10 single rooms for 18-19 and 19-20 May at Sunnersta Herrgård. The price is 520SEK /person and night, breakfast included. The hotel is nicely situated outside Uppsala (6 km from the city centre) by the river in a residential area. If you would like to stay there please contact Sunnersta Herrgård before April 20 at the latest. Please refer to the NISN conference and to me. Their tel nr is +46 18 32 42 20 and fax no. is +46 18 32 40 68. They have no email address but they are on the net. Administration needs to know where they can send the invoice for the conference fee. Please send your full address before Easter. I also need to know if you are planning to take part in the boattrip and dinner before Easter.
