JAN 07: Det Humanistiske Fakultet har fået ny net-adresse: www.humaniora.au.dk Grants For Coimbra Group ResearchersAcademic Year 1999/2000 Af Prof: Roberto Schmid & Dr. Giovanni Bignamini The University of Pavia will award 8 grants to foreign researchers belonging to a COIMBRA GROUP University for the 1999/2000 academic year. Designed to promote and increase scientific cooperation and international University research, the grants may be used within the University for Paviaís research structures. The grants will be for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months. The yearly amount will be 30 million Italian Lire which must also cover accommodation and meals, normally in a University Residence. The grant will be paid in installments every two months in advance. Applicants must be working as researchers in one of the COIMBRA GROUP Universities and must be no older than 40 years of age. Applications, including the applicant's full particulars, must be accompanied by the following documents:
Application must be made sent to: Universitaí degli studi di Pavia, International Affairs Office, Strada Nuova 65, 27100 Pavia (Italy) by 30 November 1999. The selection will be made by a Commission, appointed by the University Senate consisting of one full or associate professor of the University of Pavia for each scientific sector listed below and by a COIMBRA GROUP representative designated by the Rector of the University of Pavia.
The Commission will be chaired by the professor with the greatest seniority. The Commission's decisions are binding. No person may be a member, consecutively, of two Commissions. The results of the selection will be announced within 60 days from the deadline for the presentation of applications. Selected applicants must present an insurance policy covering death, accident, occupational disease, civil liability for damage to third parties and their possessions. The right to the grant lapses in those cases where the researcher fails to declare in writing that he or she accepts the grant or where, having, given written acceptance, no proof is given that the research activity has begun. Where the right to a grant is renounced or otherwise lapses, the grant may be offered to the other researchers. At the end of the period of the grant, the researcher and the referent professor must send a detailed report on the research activity to the University Administration. Where the research results are published, the publication must contain an acknowledgment that the research was carried out with the help of a grant awarded by the University of Pavia.
