Zeitschrift für Semiotik Band 31, Heft 3-4 is published October 2011 as a special issue with the thema "Diagrammatische Zeichen". The contributions to the issue "have all been written in response to Frederik Stjernfelt's book Diagrammatology (2007)" (Roland Posner's introduction). The issue contains papers by Roland Posner, John Michael Krois, Michael Hoffmann, Bernd Mahr and Klaus Robering, Claus Schlaberg, Martin Brunner, and Frithjof Dau.

Eller er det tværtimod kulturernes ret til at leve beskyttet og upåvirket af det øvrige samfund? Denne bog undersøger disse spørgsmål både i multikulturalismens virkelighed og dens ideologi. Vi rejser til et multikulturalistisk land og undersøger, hvad der ligger bag dette omstridte begreb i virkeligheden. Hvad er fordele og ulemper ved den reelt existerende multikulturalisme? Inden for de seneste tyve år er kulturbegrebet kommet på den politiske dagsorden, i en grad hvor “kultur” i sig selv er blevet en ideologi. Hvor kommer dette kulturbegreb egentlig fra? Hvilke rødder har det i antropologi, filosofi og politik? Hvad betyder det for vores måde at tænke på, når vi uafvidende overtager dette begreb? Frederik Stjernfelt: Professor Frederik Stjernfelt has published a short history of semiotics trends and developments in Denmark in the international net bulletin SEMIOTIX. Mikkel Wallentin: This review brings together evidence from a diverse field of methods for investigating sex differences in language processing. Differences are found in certain language-related deficits, such as stuttering, dyslexia, autism and schizophrenia. Common to these is that language problems may follow from, rather than cause the deficit.
The very first issue of the new journal Cognitive Semiotics is available now. Announcing a publication schedule of two print issues a year, the journal is an initiative from the Center for Cognition and Culture, at the department of Cognitive Science at Case Western Reserve University, and from a group of researchers trained at the Center for Semiotics, in Denmark, and based in Aarhus and Copenhagen.
