Overview

The workshop is addressed mainly to PhD students, but MA students, as well as postdoctoral researchers with an interest in methodology are welcome to attend. Its main objective is to highlight methodology-specific advantages, challenges and limitations arising in empirical research involving language and cognition.
The workshop format has been chosen, including

  • more encompassing talks (see Invited talks)

  • short presentations by participants (see Presentations)

  • open discussions with the intention of establishing an exchange platform for Scandinavian and Baltic scholars pursuing research projects in language and cognition, while underlining the importance of methodological rigor.

The invited talks will touch upon issues concerning research design (quantitative, qualitative or mixed), the interplay between theory and methodology, data collection (whether corpus-based, experimental or using qualitative methods), data analysis and validation.
